The UN-REDD Programme, the African Forest Forum (AFF), and the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) invite journalists to apply for the African Forests Story Grant, a new opportunity to highlight how African communities are driving sustainable forest management and conservation across the continent.
This initiative supports powerful storytelling on the intersection of forests, livelihoods, and climate action, aiming to elevate local voices and showcase the changemakers behind Africa’s forest frontlines.
Who Can Apply
- Journalists collaborating with regional African media outlets.
- Applicants must have a strong record of reporting on environmental, climate, or community issues.
- Open to journalists who have not previously received a GLF grant.

How to Apply
Submit a 250-word pitch by 19 November 2025, outlining your original story idea, key angles, preferred format (written, audio, audiovisual, visual, or multimedia), and a brief dissemination plan. Include a letter of interest or commitment from your editor.
