YOJO (Young Journalists) is iMEdD’s innovative, non-profit newsroom, seeking to empower the next generation of reporters who will shape the future of independent journalism. YOJO is offering a one- or two-year paid placement to recent graduates from around the world. Join our cutting-edge newsroom in Athens, Greece, where you’ll report impactful stories and create engaging, transparent journalism.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Recent graduate (undergraduate or postgraduate) within the last 18 months, or final-year student
  • Strong interest in journalism with a focus on ethics, transparency, and impact
  • Fluency in English (Greek is a plus but not required)
  • No newsroom experience required
  • Willingness to relocate to Athens and work in a dynamic, fast-paced newsroom
Key Responsibilities
  • Cover unfolding events on the ground in Greece and internationally, providing real-time, on-the-ground reporting.
  • Develop and produce compelling, video-first content for digital platforms, ensuring it reaches audiences where they consume information.
  • Innovative Journalism: Experiment with immersive storytelling techniques, including AR, VR, and XR, to engage viewers in new ways.
  • Leverage data tools and investigative techniques to produce high-quality, impactful reports.
  • Front your own stories, presenting reports on camera and contributing to broadcast news segments.
  • Work closely with mentors and the global YOJO team to produce stories and gain insights into the evolving landscape of media and journalism.
  • Connect with professionals from around the world, learning from top industry experts and enhancing your journalistic skills.
