This is a unique opportunity to join Lighthouse Reports, an award-winning investigative newsroom collaborating with over 150 media partners globally to deliver impactful, public interest investigations. Lighthouse Reports focuses on critical issues including migration, climate, conflict, and corruption, while pushing the boundaries of how investigative journalism is produced and consumed.

Lighthouse Reports are looking for a creative and technically skilled Visual Impact Producer to expand our video storytelling capabilities and engage new audiences. If you are passionate about crafting compelling visual narratives that challenge assumptions and drive change, we would love to hear from you.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Proven experience as a Video Producer, Videographer, or similar role, preferably in journalism or nonprofit settings.
  • A strong track record in producing highly shareable short-form content for social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellent video production and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in video editing software, including After Effects.
  • Outstanding storytelling abilities, with a passion for investigative journalism and using visuals to maximize impact.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in more than one language and experience working with multilingual teams are an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, shoot, and edit high-quality video content including short documentaries, vertical short forms (Reels, TikToks, Shorts), and long-form investigative reports for various platforms.
  • Improve Lighthouse Reports’ external communications and social media presence, collaborating with media partners to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Advise teams on how to leverage video products to expand the impact of investigations and reach new audiences, including engagement with influencers and online communities.
  • Work closely with journalists, editors, technical specialists, media partners, and the impact team to produce cohesive and compelling visual narratives.
  • Lead video projects from conception through to completion, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
