User Experience/User Interface Designer

VERA Files is looking for a User Experience/User Interface Designer to be responsible for planning and implementing optimized user interface designs of the web application.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan and implement new designs for VERA Files Fact Check’s website.
• Optimize existing user interface designs.
• Work closely with Product Lead and Editorial Leads to understand their business goals and objectives.
• Develop technical and business requirements that deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions.
• Create prototypes for new product ideas.
• Test the product for intuitiveness and quality of experience.
• Participate in end-to-end product design by:
  – Working with the product lead and audience development officers to understand audience needs and define opportunities through usability and empathy studies.
  – Framing problems,determining insights, and defining visual designs to serve audience needs.
  – Creating process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, resulting in low to high fidelity prototypes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification/s

• At least 1 year of experience with UX and UI design
• Experience in designing progressive web applications or mobile applications is a plus
• Familiarity with design and prototyping tools.
