Europe based. Extensive travel in Neighbourhood. Monthly one-day meeting in Brussels required

 

REQUIRED PROFILE

Education:

University degree or 14 years of journalism experience in total

Languages

Fluent in English with good understanding of French

Knowledge of Arabic and/or Russian

Experience:

At least 10 years of professional experience in journalism and/or media relations of which (experiences can be cumulative):

– at least 5 years of working experience (can be the sum of several short periods) in at least three of the following countries:

 

Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine

– at least 7 years of experience in production and post-production at senior level gained in a broadcast media, agency or production company background or equivalent

news and current affairs coverage/ documentaries production

visual story telling, content management and multimedia cross format production including production for social media

– at least 3 years experience in media management

set up and running of news operations

managing journalistic/production team

content management

Digital transition and online media production management

Setting up/restructuring media outlets

fostering innovative audience engagement strategies

negotiating with authorities

business planning, development and financial control

 

TASKS

  1. Project management
    1. Broadcast staff coordination (regional coordinators, mentors, stringers, producers)
    2. Design, planning and set up of training activities, seminars, production cycles, conferences and recruitment of experts
    3. Budget planning, execution and reporting
  2. Coordination of broadcast related activities
    1. Commissioning, editorial mentoring and feedback to producers
    2. Supervision of production, postproduction, local dissemination
  3. Management and oversight of the development of a broadcast content supply platform
    1. Promotion and distribution of broadcast outputs worldwide
    2. Content curation, engagement of commissioning editors and media outlets for distribution
    3. Contribution to online community development
  4. Reporting, Monitoring and evaluation of results
  5. Contribution to overall project objectives and activities
    1. Attendance to regular project meetings
    2. Representation of Project to international event
