The European Correspondent is launching the TEC learning hub, a free, six-month training programme for early-career or aspiring journalists who want to build practical reporting skills and gain a deeper understanding of European affairs.
From January to June 2026, participants will take part in a blended training that includes self-paced online modules, taught by experienced journalists and EU affairs experts, monthly streamed masterclasses and two live trainings in Europe, in March and June (travel expenses covered).
Over six months, participants will:
- Strengthen their reporting, writing, interviewing, and cross-border collaboration skills
- Build a practical understanding of European institutions, policies, and politics, with tools to identify story angles, accountability gaps, and citizen impact
- Connect with peers from across the continent
- Produce a final story with editorial support from The European Correspondent editors
Whether you’re studying, freelancing, job-hunting, or exploring journalism for the first time, you’re welcome to apply. You don’t need prior experience to join, but you do need curiosity, a strong interest in EU affairs, and a willingness to participate actively by sharing ideas, engaging with others, and contributing to the community. The programme is designed to be flexible and will require a commitment of a few hours per month on average.
How to apply
Fill in this form to apply for the first cohort, starting at the end of January 2026. Deadline for applications is Thursday, 22 January 2026, end of day.
