Senior Project Manager Sub-Saharan Africa

Media in Cooperation and Transition (MICT) is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and expand its activities in Sub-Saharan Africa. The position will be responsible for developing new projects, managing existing programs, and building relationships with donors and partners across the region. The fulltime role will be based in Berlin.

Requirements

• Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the political landscape and development policy contexts in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Project Development: Proven experience in designing international development projects in Africa, including proposal writing and participation in tender processes. Demonstrated ability to proactively acquire funding from German and/or international donors.
• Project Management: Experience in the administrative and financial management of grant-funded projects with a minimum volume of €200,000—including budget oversight, procurement procedures, and preparation of financial reports. Track record of leading international teams.
• Language Skills: Fluent English, both written and spoken, at a professional/negotiation level.
• Desirable Qualifications: Proficiency in German, French, and/or Arabic. Experience working with media outlets and journalists in Africa.
