Senior Advisor

The Senior Advisor, Information Integrity will provide expert knowledge and technical advice on BBC Media Action’s projects related to information integrity. The role supports strategy development, enhances the organisation’s external visibility, and fosters evidence-based policy engagement.

This position will guide media and communication interventions to counter misinformation, strengthen public dialogue, and ensure BBC Media Action maintains its reputation for evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide learning, evidence, and technical guidance on how media and communication can support information integrity and tackle information disorder.
• Identify and develop donor and partner relationships, generating opportunities for information integrity projects.
• Collaborate with the research team to design and implement an evidence generation strategy that strengthens the organisation’s impact and credibility.
• Support evidence-based engagement with policymakers, donors, and development actors to influence strategies around information integrity and the role of AI in information environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience designing and implementing projects using media and communication to support information integrity and counter mis/disinformation.
• Ability to tailor strategies to diverse political and media environments, including restrictive or low-democracy contexts.
• Strong understanding of policy issues affecting information integrity.
• Knowledge of challenges in global majority contexts and among marginalised communities regarding information environments.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams to drive impact.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, with a commitment to inclusive and equitable approaches.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with sector experts and stakeholders.
• Long-term, lived experience in one or more of BBC Media Action’s operational contexts.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.
