Entries are now open for the 2025 Rory Peck Awards — a prestigious programme honouring freelance journalists and filmmakers who bring vital stories from around the world. The awards recognise exceptional skill, courage, and journalistic integrity across five impactful categories.
Winners receive £1,000 and a trophy, while finalists are awarded £500 and a trophy. All finalists will be invited to attend the Awards ceremony on Wednesday, 26 November 2025 at the BFI Southbank in London, offering a unique opportunity to connect with leading industry professionals.

Eligibility
- Open to freelance journalists and filmmakers only — defined as individuals not on a permanent or rolling contract or salary, though they may work on commission or retainer.
- Entries must have been first broadcast, published, or screened between 5 July 2024 and 10 July 2025.
- News Award, News Features Award, and Sony Impact Award: Open to video/film entries only.
- Martin Adler Prize and Freelance Journalist of the Year Award: Open to all media formats.
- Entries must have been broadcast/published/screened by a recognised media outlet: e.g., TV channel, streaming platform, online news site, publication, film festival.
- Multiple entries allowed, but each requires a separate form and fee.
