Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD) is looking for a Research & Drafting Intern to support the development of a toolkit aimed at strengthening Europe’s security by enhancing independent media and information integrity. The intern will work closely with GFMD’s Director of Membership Services and will assist with research, drafting, and stakeholder engagement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in media policy, EU affairs, and donor strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on policies, donor strategies, and best practices related to media support and information integrity.
- Assist in drafting sections of the toolkit, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
- Support the planning and execution of interviews with EU officials, media development organisations, and donor agencies.
- Transcribe and analyse interview responses to identify key insights and recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on methodology and content development.
- Assist with literature reviews and case study identification to strengthen the toolkit’s recommendations.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Political Science, EU Affairs, or International Relations.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, preferably with experience in policy writing.
- Experience or interest in stakeholder engagement is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a remote team.
- Familiarity with EU institutions and media development issues is a plus.
Duration and Remuneration
This is a remote, part-time internship running from April 1 to July 1, 2025, with a flexible 20-hour-per-week schedule. The intern should ideally be based within the CEST or GMT+1 time zone. A monthly stipend of €300 will be provided.
