The Department of Global Communications (DGC) plays a crucial role in advancing the work of the United Nations by producing high-quality news content in multiple languages. The team is responsible for crafting engaging and informative news articles, features, and multimedia content that amplify the UN’s key messages.The Public Information Intern – Hindi will work within the UN newsroom in New Delhi, supporting daily news production, in-depth features, and multimedia content creation. This is an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in journalism, public information, and digital media.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and edit Hindi news articles by integrating and translating information from UN reports, press releases, official statements, and resolutions.
  • Proofread news content before and after publication.
  • Conduct fact-checking and background research for articles.
  • Assist in multimedia production, including graphic design, visuals, and audio content.
  • Work on feature stories, conduct research and interviews, and develop long-form content.
  • Collaborate with the UN Partnerships Unit to review and expand the media partnerships database, including identifying reliable fact-checking organizations.
  • Support outreach activities and perform other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate school program (Master’s degree or higher) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies.
  • Currently enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (Bachelor’s level or equivalent) in the above-mentioned fields.
  • Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi (written and spoken). Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to write and edit clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Works collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Understands audience needs and tailors content accordingly.
  • Strong commitment to the values and mission of the United Nations.
