MDIF is seeking a Senior Program Officer/Program Officer to support the Myanmar Media Program. This role will focus on implementing MDIF’s business capacity-building initiatives for independent media in Myanmar. Reporting to the Myanmar Media Program Director, the position involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring program compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement program activities, including one-on-one coaching, workshops, peer-to-peer visits, small grants, digital troubleshooting, and research reports.
 - Manage and monitor project deliverables, budgets, and action plans, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and MDIF policies.
 - Establish and maintain professional relationships with media partners, coaches, and technical advisors.
 - Oversee consultants and coordinate with MDIF staff during and between media partner visits.
 - Identify best practices, troubleshoot program issues, and analyze M&E data for continuous improvement.
 - Monitor political, economic, and social developments affecting Myanmar’s media sector.
 - Prepare narrative and financial reports for donors and internal program updates.
 - Uphold transparency, ethical conduct, and efficiency in project implementation.
 
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Myanmar’s media sector or a related field, preferably in donor-funded programs.
 - Strong understanding of Myanmar’s political, economic, and social environment.
 - Demonstrated knowledge of the Myanmar media landscape.
 - Proven leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
 - Experience with M&E, program planning, and reporting.
 - Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
 - Fluent in Myanmar and English, with strong writing abilities in both languages.
 - Proficiency in internet tools and computer software.
 - Willingness to travel within Thailand and Southeast Asia.
 - Ability to work in multicultural, multilingual environments and adapt to tight deadlines.
 - Availability to start as soon as possible.
