The Collab Challenges are a new series of collaborative experiments that bring together media organisations to explore innovative solutions to improve journalism via the use of AI technologies. The programme is an evolution of the 2020 JournalismAI Collab, the first-ever collaboration of this kind, informed by the findings of the 2019 JournalismAI report, “New Powers, New Responsibilities”.
The Collab Challenges are organised by the JournalismAI team at POLIS – the journalism think-tank of the London School of Economics and Political Science – and are supported by the Google News Initiative.
The Collab Challenge in APAC will be hosted by JournalismAI in partnership with Bennett University’s Times School of Media and Computer Science Engineering Department.
The Times School of Media is an interdisciplinary professional school whose programmes have been developed in conjunction with the Times Group, India’s largest media conglomerate. The School’s programmes place special emphasis on imparting skills required to succeed in today’s highly competitive, and rapidly changing, media environment.
The Challenge will focus on: How might we use AI and audience insights to help newsrooms design more relevant and interactive news narratives?
