Fundación Maldita.es, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating disinformation through journalism, technology, education, and research, is looking for a Policy and Institutional Development Officer to join its team in Madrid.

The selected candidate for the  Policy and Institutional Development Officer will play a key role in advancing our public policy strategy and building partnerships with public and private institutions to foster a healthier information ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor initiatives and opportunities related to the foundation’s areas of work, including information integrity, disinformation, fact-checking, journalism, media literacy, information technologies, transparency, and freedom of expression.
  • Draft proposals, studies, reports, evaluations, and position papers that support the foundation’s policy and advocacy efforts.
  • Represent Fundación Maldita.es at conferences, public forums, and other events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, institutions, and partners aligned with the foundation’s mission.
  • Support advocacy and dissemination activities to advance the foundation’s objectives, strategies, and actions.
Eligibility
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Public affairs and regulation Institutional relationsPolitical communication Technology research or advocacy University degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Communication, Sociology, International Relations, Technology, or a related field.
  • Full professional proficiency in English (C1).
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in media, journalism, or data analysis.
  • Specialized training in public policy, advocacy, governance, democracy, or the third sector.
  • Additional language proficiency.
