The Max Weber Programme (MWP) at the European University Institute (EUI) invites journalists in targeted Widening countries to The Journalist in Residence paid residency in Florence, taking place between 30 September and 29 November 2024.
The initiative, hosted by the EUI’s Max Weber Programme, aims to foster dialogue between researchers and journalists.
The Journalist in Residence is targeted at freelance and staff journalists who are interested in scientific journalism in social sciences and humanities and have at least five years of media work experience. A good knowledge of written and spoken English is expected.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility is limited to journalists with a background from and a journalistic impact in at least one of the eligible countries:
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo(1), Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
