The One World Media Awards 2025 celebrate the best media coverage from and about the Global South, recognizing stories that break stereotypes, shift narratives, and connect people across cultures.

For over 35 years, the One World Media Awards 2025 have showcased impactful journalism and storytelling that highlights underreported stories and brings global issues to the forefront. Each year, hundreds of entries are reviewed by distinguished judges from the media and non-profit sectors, selected for their expertise and commitment to ethical storytelling.

Eligibility

The One World Media Awards welcome entries that focus on stories, topics, or issues related to low- and middle-income countries and communities across the Global South.

The Global South broadly includes countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia (excluding Israel, Japan, and South Korea), and Oceania (excluding Australia and New Zealand).
