Internews Network is an international media development organization, whose mission is to give people a voice and the information to empower communities. To support implementation of a USAID-funded Investing in Independent Media (IIM) Activity in Southeast Asia, Internews is seeking two Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officers. The MEL Officers will support the project team in collecting, collating, analyzing and reporting monitoring information on the project indicator framework in line with Internews’ data quality standards to ensure ongoing monitoring of program progress and performance to inform learning and adaptation of the project in real time. The MEL Officers report to and will be supervised by the MEL Manager, and will work closely with other project staff, including Research and Grants Coordinators, project partners, and grantees.
DAY-TO-DAY TASKS:
- Coordinate with partners and grantees to collect data around the indicators in the project logframe, using data collection tools as advised by the MEL Manager;
- Enter data into project databases, including cleaning, coding data, and identifying gaps and irregularities;
- Analyze or automate the analysis of this data, identifying trends and outliers;
- Develop periodic (weekly, monthly, bi-annual) and ad hoc reports on this data for the MEL Manager and the wider project team;
- Build and maintain effective working relationships within the MEL team and with all functional teams, and project partners and grantees; duties as assigned by supervisors; and
- In all duties, demonstrate understanding of and strong commitment to upholding Internews’ Core Values.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in media, development, or another related subject
- Some experience with Southeast Asia media/journalism – work experience preferred
- Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative research, including research methodologies, primary data collection, entry and analysis
- Experience and knowledge of MEL preferred, including experience working with indicator frameworks, monitoring tools, and/or conducting evaluations
- Good analytical and report writing skills with proven command of English and Burmese
- Experience working with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Ability to work effectively on a multicultural team and maintain effective communication with remote colleagues
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize a shifting workload
