DW Akademie Western Balkans Program is seeking experienced media development consultants to support Public Service Media in the Western Balkans. This initiative is part of the Innovation. Media. Minds: Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans program, funded by the European Union and managed by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with DW Akademie.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored training sessions in English to media outlets in the Western Balkans (proficiency in a Western Balkan language and prior completion of DW Akademie’s Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop are advantages).
- The Media development consultants will work with diverse public broadcasters in the region.
- Simplify complex concepts for participants with varying levels of experience.
- Provide interactive and impactful consultancy, training, and mentorship.
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in media development, journalism, or related consultancy work.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the listed areas.
- Experience working with public service media or media organizations in the Western Balkans.
- Strong facilitation and training skills, with the ability to engage diverse participants.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English (proficiency in a Western Balkan language is an advantage).
- Familiarity with DW Akademie’s methodology is preferred (e.g., participation in DW Akademie’s Training of Trainers workshop).
- Ability to travel within the region if required.
