The Prague Civil Society Centre is looking for a part-time local consultant in Armenia to enhance the Centre’s in-country presence and work. The local consultant will engage with media partners, content creators, and strategic initiatives in Armenia and occasionally represent the Centre’s programming to relevant stakeholders.
The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers civil society and independent media in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
Key Responsibilities
The consultants work will inculde:
- Identifying and monitoring media initiatives relevant to the Centre’s programmes.
- Maintaining regular contact with local partners, giving feedback on their work (project implementation and compliance), and providing a broader assessment of the relevance and impact of projects supported by the Centre in the country.
- Providing regular analysis and updates on the political and broader societal trends in the country (together with the current country consultant).
- Supporting the evaluation of applications for grants and other opportunities offered by the Centre for Armenian media and civil society, including content checks and reference verification.
- Providing logistical and organisational support for field activities and meetings.
- Serving as a local focal point and ensuring representation and regular engagement with stakeholders, including occasionally attending events.
Eligibility
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field (media, international development, etc.)
- Fluency in written and spoken Armenian and English is required, good command of Russian is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with strong cybersecurity awareness and experience managing databases
- High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and objectivity
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people
- Strong organisational skills, reliability, and diligence in approaching tasks
- Willingness and ability to travel within Armenia and occasionally to the Centre’s headquarters in Prague
