JTI Director

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is a Paris-based, globally operating and acknowledged, leading press freedom watchdog, with offices in 14 cities around the world and a consultative status in the UN, Unesco, etc. With our advocacy- and solutions-driven approach we advance the safety of journalists, the informational self-determination of every individual and a healthier polity overall.

To further strengthen their Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI), they are recruiting a JTI Director for their headquarters (f/m/d)

Reporting to the RSF directors’ committee, duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Devising and implementing to increase the number of media outlets self-assessed and certified according to the JTI standard;
• Heading the JTI team, currently including three staff members;
• Representing RSF and presenting the JTI in professional events;
• Coordinating a network of representatives in charge of prospection toward media outlets in selected territories;
• Securing incentives from various stakeholders (advertisers, regulators, platforms…) benefitting JTI-certified media outlets.

Candidate profile

• BA or equivalent in economics, marketing or related;
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of media or NGO project management;
• Strong network within the journalism communities;
• Professional fluency in English is a must, additional languages – French in particular – are a plus;
• Intercultural sensitivity and curiosity, committed to do-no-harm principle;
• Permitted to work inside the European Union.
