International Writing Program 2022 in Argentina

  – Except under exceptional circumstances, candidates should have published at least one volume of work or professional script credit, or authored works that have appeared in significant publications or attracted significant audiences over the last two years.
  – Selected participants must attend the full 12-week program in the United States.

The U.S. Embassy in Argentina is currently accepting applications from rising literary stars for the International Writing Program (IWP), to take place at the University of Iowa from late August or early September to mid- or late November 2022 (specific dates to be announced at a later date).

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs collaborates annually with the University of Iowa to bring together international established and emerging creative writers to the United States to participate in the International Writing Program (IWP) in Iowa City, Iowa. IWP is one of the most renowned global forums bringing together rising literary stars, including screenwriters, multi-media platform writers and influential opinion leaders to participate in a 12-week residency program.
