ECPMF is looking for a Digital Communications Intern to support its communications work across ECPMF projects and platforms, gaining hands-on experience in digital communications within an international press freedom organisation, including content creation, social media, and contributing to the visibility of ECPMF’s projects and advocacy work.
Key responsibilities
- The intern will support ECPMF’s communications team in preparing and publishing digital content across ECPMF channels, including several websites, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Tasks may include supporting website updates, drafting and editing social media posts, preparing visuals and short video content, assisting with newsletter production, helping maintain communication calendars, and contributing to the promotion of ECPMF projects, events, calls, reports, statements, and public campaigns.
- The role includes basic media monitoring, research for communications purposes, preparing social media assets, updating contact lists, supporting event communications, collecting analytics, and helping evaluate the performance of digital content.
- Draft and adapt content for ECPMF’s social media channels, website, newsletters, and other digital formats.
- Support the preparation of visual materials for campaigns, events, calls, reports, and public statements.
- Assist with website updates and publication workflows using content management systems.
- Help monitor press freedom developments and identify relevant communication opportunities.
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling of digital content across platforms.
- Assist with collecting basic performance data and analytics from social media, newsletters, and the website.
Requirements
- Applicant must be enrolled into a German University.
- Excellent knowledge of English and German.
- Strong interest in press freedom, journalism, human rights, democracy, or European civil society.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and digital communication formats.
- Ability to write clearly, accurately, and with attention to tone.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
