IPI is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Innovation Projects Officer to support the implementation of global media innovation and sustainability initiatives. This role blends network coordination, project management, and event organization, contributing to projects such as AI Accelerators, Media Innovation Festivals, and other support programs for local and startup media worldwide.

The Innovation Projects Officer will report to the Head of Innovation and Media Business and play a key role in delivering IPI’s new AI Accelerator for small and mid-sized publishers in global majority countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate in-person and online speaker sessions and training events for innovation and sustainability programmes.
  • Support the organization of media innovation bootcamps and the annual Media Innovation Festival.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the AI Accelerator, ensuring timely delivery, documentation, and donor compliance.
  • Oversee donor reporting schedules and inputs for innovation activities globally.
  • Coordinate open calls for funding and training opportunities.
  • Collect impact stories and final reports from programme beneficiaries for publication.
  • Moderate the Local News and Innovation Network, fostering peer exchange and engagement.
  • Support project managers in maintaining activity timelines.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing communication materials and updates.
  • Track communication impact and coordinate content contributions.
  • Provide writing and editing support for programme-related materials.
Eligibility
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, monitoring and evaluation, or event management.
  • Strong interest in media innovation, technology, and press freedom.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with donor reporting, event coordination, and digital project tools.
  • Ability to manage cross-border collaborations and operate in multiple time zones.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are an asset).
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and enthusiastic about supporting independent media ecosystems.
