The Global Business Journalism program is a partnership between Tsinghua University, the International Center for Journalists and Bloomberg News. It is the premier English language business journalism master’s program in Asia, and it has attracted students from more than 73 nations since its creation in 2007.
The two-year program is tailored to passionate candidates who demonstrate both academic competency and aspire to be journalists, in general, business journalists specifically, or any other job that requires expertise in China or international economics.
The Global Business Journalism program seeks to train future journalists who can help the public understand the complexities of global business and the economy.
Required qualifications
To be eligible for the Global Business Journalism program:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
- Master’s degree program applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree to a bachelor’s degree (or above) in China.
- Applicants should be in good health and of good character, be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China’s laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua’s rules.
- Language competence requirements: Applicants must demonstrate strong English skills, as all teaching will be conducted in English. If the applicant’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application.
A limited number of scholarships are available to top applicants. Those interested in applying for a scholarship are encouraged to apply early.
