The Global Forum for Media Development is seeking an intern to help with activities and tasks related to capacity building and fundraising for the media development sector.
About the Position
The fundraising and capacity building intern will assist in the coordination and organisation of GFMD’s capacity building programme, events, and projects in close collaboration with GFMD’s project manager. The successful candidate is an adaptable, critical thinker with a positive attitude and the ability to take initiative and think on their feet. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is the ability to work independently outside of an office on a decentralised team.

Location: Flexible
Job type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Populating and maintaining the GFMD capacity building and fundraising resource centre
- Researching and posting relevant funding opportunities for the media development community
- Writing blogs and articles on capacity building and fundraising trends within the sector
- Engaging with members via email
- Attending weekly team meetings
- Attending relevant events in/around Brussels (if located in Belgium)
- Other duties as required
Desired qualifications
- Strong organisational skills; ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks concurrently with excellent attention to detail. Willingness to take initiative to get things done. Good general knowledge and research skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English a must. Additional languages, such as French or Spanish, will be considered a plus.
- Enrolled in course of Journalism, Political Science, Web development, Programming, Marketing or Communications, Public diplomacy or similar.
- Audience analysis skills for online content creation
