Free Press Unlimited’s Safety Team is currently looking for a Project Officer with extensive experience in project/grant management.

The Project Safety Officer will support in planning, organisation, reporting (financial and narrative), and monitoring. They will provide logistical support in the case of an event and monitor the progress of the work and measure the impact of the safety work. All work will be done within the financial and qualitative framework.

Tasks:

  • Develop contracts and agreements with donors, service providers and partner organisations
  • Ensure that grants or contracts are well administered

  • Maintain a broad and deep understanding of relevant donor policies, regulations, and procedures

  • Lead the annual planning and financial & narrative reporting processes, share related requirements with relevant colleagues and collect and review input
  • Consolidate annual plans and reports, apply quality checks and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the donor/grant holder

  • Clearly document and communicate deadlines and other requirements to all stakeholders and follow up on partner reports

  • Support in Monitoring Evaluation, Accountability and Learning and produce stories of change;

  • Support in case work or implementation of project activities where needed

  • Support the design of project proposals and the safety strategy

Requirements:

Freedom Press Unlimited is looking for a Project Officer, with appropriate sensitivity for cultural differences. Their ideal candidate is independent, self-confident, decisive, has strong project management skills, and has the ability to keep an overview and set priorities.

In addition, the following requirements apply:

  • University of Applied Sciences level of working and thinking;

  • At least five years’ work experience in a similar position, preferably in an international environment;

  • Knowledge and experience of project management and the relevant methodologies; Experience in EU and/or US grant management is a must;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with an eye for detail;
  • Excellent writing skills;

  • High level of integrity and accountability;

  • Eligibility to work in the EU.

Freedom Press Unlimited offers the following:

  • The opportunity to work in an international working environment of 70 colleagues who work both from home and in a nice office in the heart of Amsterdam.
  • An appointment for one year, with the possibility of an extension depending on performance and funding. The salary is dependent upon relevant professional experience (min € 3.800 and max € 5.300, gross per month based on full-time employment, excluding 8% holiday allowance).
  • Free Press Unlimited has an excellent pension scheme, 25 days of leave per year (on the basis of a full-time position), vitality allowance, and reimbursement of travel expenses (public transport).
