The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is seeking a Faculty Member (Consultant) to teach in the Global Business Journalism Program at Tsinghua University in Beijing. This role involves teaching graduate-level business reporting courses to students from China and around the world, either in the Fall 2025 (August–December) or Spring 2026 (February–June) semester.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach two business journalism courses to graduate students.
- Prepare lesson plans, handouts, multimedia presentations, quizzes, and assessments.
- Mentor students, including supporting their final projects and theses.
- Conduct occasional short seminars or workshops on business journalism topics.
- Contribute to social media and website content for the GBJ program.
- Communicate regularly with the program’s co-directors and ICFJ staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience covering business or economics for a major global media outlet.
- Experience teaching at the university level or training professional journalists.
- Master’s degree or higher strongly preferred.
- International work experience, ideally in China or Asia.
- Proficiency in multimedia, social media, and data journalism.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.
