The Delegation of the European Union to Canada and the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) are pleased to launch the 2024 edition of the EU-Canada Award for Young Journalists.
The EU-Canada Award for Young Journalists recognises the outstanding journalistic talent of young Canadians. Each year since 2001, three candidates have been selected to participate in a week-long study tour to different European institutions, the Mission of Canada to the EU, and various media outlets in Brussels.
The winners will have the opportunity to attend the European Commission’s daily press briefing. All fees are paid by the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. Winners will also receive a one-year CAJ membership or renewal of their CAJ membership for a one-year term.
Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony co-hosted with the Speaker of the House of Commons and the CAJ on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
The EU-Canada Award for Young journalists aims to strengthen ties between Europeans and Canadians and to raise awareness of the activities of the European Union among new generations of Canadian students and journalists.
Winners are required to present an example of their work and chronicle, online or in writing, their experience during their study tour or upon their return (e.g., written articles, blogs, or social media).
