As the Engagement Coordinator at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will work closely with the Director of Media Freedom and the Senior Manager, Media Initiatives to implement the Media Freedom strategy, with the following responsibilities
- Provide event management and logistical support for remote and in-person activities including workshops, round tables and award ceremonies
- Create and run communications plans — in line with our stakeholder engagement strategy — with a range of key stakeholders, such as journalist alumni, trainers and consultants, expert speakers…etc.
- Coordinate activities of Media Freedom team with different teams across the Foundation
- Maintain the alumni network of journalists and act as the main focal point for our Alumni Clubs
- Perform data capture and maintain database records
- Support knowledge capture, ensuring that we document our networks, relationships and ongoing conversations systematically
- Produce regular data reports on consultants, training workshops, alumni and other topics as needed to support Media Freedom thought leadership, product development and stakeholder engagement
- Research and build our network and relationships across media, policy, academia, government, civil society groups, and international bodies
- Participate in designated meetings with external stakeholders, conferences and events and feedback information to the team
- Assist with other duties or work on other programmes, as required
To Be Our Engagement Coordinator, You Will Likely Have
- At least 3 years’ working experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in international development, international relations, journalism, media studies or related field
- Prior experience in a relevant role building relationships and working with networks and communities across organizations with common goals, and working constructively with a diverse range of people
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with changing priorities and time pressures
- High motivation with ability to work independently or in a team environment
- A pro-active self-starting and problem-solving attitude, including paying attention to detail and being good on follow-through
- Experience of administrative or finance processes and excellent numerical skills
- Competency in Word, Teams, Outlook and Excel. Experience with databases (e.g. Salesforce) would be an advantage
- Fluency in English. Other languages desirable
