Launched in 1949, the Edward R. Murrow Press Fellowship aims to uphold the standard of responsible and discerning journalism set by Edward R. Murrow. Each year, one fellow is selected from among distinguished foreign correspondents or editors to join the fellowship. The program offers a unique opportunity for in-depth research and engagement in foreign policy issues.
The fellow will spend ten months in residence at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) headquarters in New York, where they will contribute to CFR’s active program of research, writing, and events. The Edward R. Murrow Press Fellowship is part of the David Rockefeller Studies Program, CFR’s think tank, and provides the fellow with access to a wide network of experts in foreign policy.
