DW Akademie is looking for a Project Manager in Bonn/Germany to plan and implement an international media and information literacy project with a focus on the MENA region.
DW Akademie is Deutsche Welle’s center for international media development, journalism training and knowledge transfer. Projects of DW Akademie strengthen the human right to freedom of expression and unhindered access to information. DW Akademie empowers people worldwide to make independent decisions based on reliable facts and constructive dialogue.
Key responsibilities:
- Recruiting and leading the project team
- Cooperating with the head of unit, country and regional teams and project partners in up to five relevant countries
- Coordinating monitoring and evaluation
- Budget control and regular exchange with administration and controlling
- Developing a visibility strategy
Key skills:
Completed university studies (Bachelor, Master, Diploma)
Strong experience of several years in all aspects of project implementation
Professional experience in the field of freedom of expression, media development and journalism
Knowledge of media and information literacy or curriculum development is an asset
Knowledge of the work processes and organizational structure of DW Akademie is desirable
Fluent in English
Knowledge of Arabic and German or Spanish is an asset
The position is limited to one year. DW Akademie offers work in an international, agile team with great deal of flexibility. Working from home or mobile office is possible. Further training for the project manager by the internal DW Akademie Training Centre is available according to the needs of the candidate.
