The Forum on Information and Democracy is the implementing body of the International Partnership for Information and Democracy, signed by 55 countries. Founded in 2019 by a coalition of 11 NGOs and research centers, the Forum’s mission is to safeguard democracy in the global information and communication space.
Through international working groups chaired by prominent figures such as Angel Gurría, Maria Ressa, Marietje Schaake, and Shoshana Zuboff, the Forum produces regulatory and self-regulatory recommendations for states, platforms, civil society, and other key stakeholders. It also hosts the International Observatory on Information and Democracy, which consolidates and analyzes global research on the impact of the information ecosystem on democratic systems.
To support its growth and further advance its mission, the Forum on Information and Democracy is seeking a Development and Resource Officer, based in Paris, France. This is a strategic position central to strengthening the Forum’s sustainability, fundraising capacity, and financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate fundraising strategies and manage donor relations, in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Draft compelling funding proposals and liaise with relevant team members on applications and follow-ups.
- Monitor grant contracts, ensuring timely and accurate narrative and financial reporting.
- Contribute to budget development and prepare organizational forecast budgets.
- Ensure sound financial oversight in partnership with the Executive Director and the external accounting firm.
- Maintain and improve systems for grant tracking, reporting, and internal financial procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in international project management, business development, administration, or related fields.
- Proven experience in securing funding for NGOs or similar institutions.
- Strong track record in managing complex projects involving multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budget oversight, invoice management, and accounting tasks. Familiarity with the French legal framework for non-profits (Association loi 1901) is highly desirable.
- Deep interest in digital governance, media, and democracy.
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Autonomous and proactive, with a collaborative spirit and comfort working in a small team. - Experience in international and multicultural work environments is an asset.
- Full professional fluency in English is required; additional languages, particularly Spanish, are a plus.
