CFI has launched a call for applications to support 80 Ivorian media outlets in using social networks responsibly and sensibly in their work, as part of the “Désinfox Côte d’Ivoire” project.
Do you wish to deepen your understanding of combating disinformation, preventive measures to adopt, strategies to fight it, and best practices for using social networks?
The “Désinfox Côte d’Ivoire” project offers training on disinformation mechanisms and their impact on journalism in the digital era, specifically aimed at Ivorian journalists. The goal is to strengthen their capabilities to reduce their vulnerability to information manipulation.
Project Beneficiaries
- 120 journalists from 80 media outlets in 20 localities across the country, with two journalists per media outlet (Abidjan, Aboisso, Grand-Bassam, Grand-Lahou, Gagnoa, San Pedro, Bondoukou, Abengourou, Adzopé, Séguéla, Man, Daloa, Touba, Divo, Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, Korhogo, Ferkessédougou, Odienné, Bouna).
- The entire editorial staff of the 80 selected media outlets (the trained journalists will be equipped to train and raise awareness among their colleagues).
Eligibility Criteria
- Media must be radio, television, print, or online outlets.
- Must be based in Côte d’Ivoire.
- Must have a politically independent editorial line.
- Must have a local and/or national audience.
- The editorial team must include at least three journalists.
- Media management must commit to having at least two journalists participate in the in-situ training and nominate a “relay journalist” who will raise awareness among colleagues after the remote coaching sessions. Active engagement is crucial for the project’s successful implementation.
