The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) is looking for a Consultant for Assessment and Creation of Media Literacy and Generative Artificial Intelligence-Related Campaign and Curricula in Ukraine (hereinafter “Consultant”), who will contribute to a needs assessment, use data and research to recommend materials for training teachers, design campaigns, and propose appropriate monitoring and evaluation questions.
IREX may choose to hire a pool of consultants with complementing expertise, depending on applications received.
Responsibilities
As Consultant, you will:
- Analyse data from surveys and other research and evaluation efforts related to campaign and assessment
- Conduct desk research on use of generative AI as part of malign actors’ information tactics
- Conduct desk research on use of generative AI as a tool to combat mis/disinformation
- Design questions and aims of generative AI media landscape assessment
- Identify, analyse, and interpret patterns and trends in generative AI used for manipulative information.
- Develop campaign objectives on healthy media consumption
- Contribute to campaign design, including storyboarding recommendations
- Communicate with vendor and program team on campaign development
- Contribute to outreach and advertising of educational materials and campaigns
- Recommend resources and lesson objectives for teaching generative AI-related media literacy competencies to teachers, students, and parents
- Recommend ways of measuring success, including monitoring and evaluation indicators and tools, of campaign and curricula.
- Assist program staff in preparing final analysis reports, summaries, and visualisations for project stakeholders to explain research results and suggest recommendations.
- Support program staff and other duties as needed.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- The consultant will have a strong understanding of media literacy, generative AI, countering disinformation, training programs, and/or public awareness campaign development.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a combination of one or more of the above areas is required.
- Professional or academic experience to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in various field studies is desired.
- Professional experience working for international development programs is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of research methodologies (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, mixed method) and data collection and analysis methodologies desired.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Very strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and spoken command of Ukrainian language is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend written English.
- Must be legally able to perform consulting duties and be compensated from either the IREX DC or IREX Ukraine office.
