The Public Media Alliance (PMA), the largest global association supporting independent public service media (PSM), is seeking a Communications Officer to strengthen its advocacy output and visibility.
Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will help shape PMA’s communications and advocacy strategy, lead social media output, and support editorial and membership communications. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for media freedom and a proven ability to manage communications in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications and social media strategies for members, partners, and advocacy
- Oversee PMA’s branding and multimedia assets
- Support the maintenance of PMA’s contact database
- Lead website maintenance and development efforts
- Research and draft short reports and feature articles
- Support content production, including podcast support and marketing
- Assist the Editorial Manager with visibility strategies
- Assist in planning and executing member roundtables, including post-event write-ups
- Help identify and coordinate speakers for conferences and panels
- Liaise with partners on research projects and events
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications, preferably within public service media or a similar advocacy/media role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms and content strategies
- Experience juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Must be eligible to work and reside in the UK
