Communications Assistant

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Communications Assistant – Social Media and Marketing to join its team in Brasília. The successful candidate will support IOM Brazil’s communications and marketing efforts by creating engaging content, managing social media platforms, and contributing to the organization’s visibility and brand positioning in migration-related work.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of IOM Brazil’s communications strategy, focusing on social media.
• Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
• Develop creative and data-driven social media content to enhance engagement and visibility.
• Identify and collaborate with key influencers to strengthen brand awareness.
• Monitor migration-related discussions on social media and provide analytical insights.
• Produce and edit visual content, including photos and videos, for online dissemination.
• Conduct research and fact-checking to support content accuracy.
• Stay up to date with social media and design trends, offering innovative ideas for communication strategies.
• Support administrative and logistical tasks related to communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or
• a university degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related fields with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong skills in digital marketing, campaign execution, and data-driven strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active social media user with a strong understanding of current trends.
• Experience in graphic design and familiarity with migration-related topics are advantages.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese required; Spanish is an asset.
