The EU DisinfoLab is seeking Communication and Community Interns for 2026 to support its outreach and engagement efforts. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications, community building, and content creation, while contributing to one of the most pressing challenges of our time — defending democracy and information integrity.
This position is based in Brussels and requires on-site presence. The interns will work under the supervision of the Community and Communications Manager and collaborate closely with the Community Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute the Disinfo Update newsletter, including sourcing content, writing blurbs, and preparing the newsletter for publication.
- Support the organisation and communication of webinars, including setup, promotion, logistics, and post-event content.
- Draft and post social media content and manage mailings.
- Update the EU DisinfoLab website with new resources, articles, and event details.
- Assist with the annual conference, contributing to content, communications, and logistics (depending on internship timing).
- Proofread and edit written materials to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Conduct media monitoring and assist with ongoing communications tasks.
- Support EU project work, research efforts on disinformation, and policy and advocacy initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled in an academic program — the internship must form part of the candidate’s educational curriculum.
- Must be able to provide a signed internship agreement between the student, the university, and EU DisinfoLab.
- Must commit to a minimum duration of 3 months.
- Must be able to work on-site in Brussels at least three days per week (remote internships are not available).
- As per Belgian law, internships are unpaid.
