The Center for International Media Assistance is searching for a new Research Manager and Editor based in Washington D.C.
The Center for International Media Assistance (CIMA) is a specialised think tank with links to international cooperation on democracy and governance. CIMA is dedicated to improving global efforts to promote independent media in developing countries. CIMA strives to build a foundation of knowledge for media development donors, implementers, and civil society actors on best practices and solutions for improving media systems.
The Research Manager & Editor of CIMA will join a small, collaborative team and report to CIMA’s Senior Director. The position is responsible for all aspects of CIMA’s publications program, from conception of report ideas to managing writers, editing publications, and overseeing the publication process.
The Research Manager & Editor will also be encouraged to develop areas of personal interest and scholarship within the media development field and produce reports, blogposts, and other publications that help advance our understanding of global media systems, media governance, and media development support by donors. The job involves regular engagement with the National Endowment for Democracy on its efforts to support democratic transitions around the world, acting as an expert on panels and committees in Washington and other world capitals, and deepening CIMA’s institutional partnerships for impact and effectiveness.
