Diaspora Africa, in collaboration with IOM Nigeria and the Embassy of Sweden in Abuja, is launching the second cohort of the Migration Media Hub focused on “Reporting Internal Displacements in Africa.”
This unique training program supports a new generation of ethical, informed journalists passionate about migration and displacement narratives. Participants will gain access to expert guidance, networking opportunities, and tailored resources to deepen their reporting skills on internal displacement in Africa.
Objectives
- Strengthen ethical, trauma-informed approaches to reporting on IDPs
- Enhance storytelling skills tailored to internal displacement and forced migration
- Join a community of journalists focused on migration in Africa
- Access resources and data to navigate the complexities of internal displacement
Who Can Apply?
- You are a journalist or writer
- You are interested in migration issues
- You are based in Abuja (or willing to cover your own travel and accommodation)
- You can attend an in-person training in Abuja
- You can provide a one-page CV
- You are committed to pitching and producing a story post-training
