BBC Media Action is seeking a pool of trainers and mentors to support its project implementation in Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia.
The projects they are working on offer a range of training support. BBC Media Action expects training will be delivered remotely and face-to-face.
They are looking for experts to help us address the following needs:
- Advanced investigative journalism consultancy, including OSINT
- Explanatory/analytical and accountability journalism
- Innovative storytelling
- Strategic business development & marketing consultancy
- Leadership and organisational development consultancy
- Digital strategy development
- Newsroom management/multiplatform operations and workflows
- Online video production consultancy
- Advanced shooting and editing skills, including mobile journalism
- Social media & audience analytics consultancy
- Media literacy and digital verification consultancy
- Gender and media consultancy
- Safety of journalists’ consultancy
- Digital and cybersecurity consultancy
- Conflict sensitive reporting consultancy
- Media education consultancy
- Data journalism
- Safeguarding responsibilities
Trainers applying for this call will need to have:
- Substantial experience in delivering practical, formal training and on-the-job mentoring.
- Experience in delivering training remotely via Skype, Zoom, and Teams (1:1 or in groups).
- High level of practical experience in the skills outlined.
- Understanding of BBC editorial guidelines.
- Experience in the region and an understanding of the local contexts and platforms is highly desirable but not essential.
Language skills needed:
- An understanding of Russian, Georgian, Ukrainian, Armenian or Romanian would be an advantage.
BBC staff are eligible to apply. The line manager’s approval to release them for the duration of the training will be requested. BBC Media Action will compensate their department for time spent on the projects.
