The International Fund for Public Interest Media (the International Fund) is looking for an outstanding individual to join their growing team as an Advocacy and Global Program Manager.

The Advocacy and Global Program Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the International Fund’s advocacy strategy to raise awareness on the threats to information ecosystems in low- and middle-income countries and elevate the need for a more robust response by the international community.

They will also support the development of the International Fund’s emerging Global Program, identifying partners and developing grants to support global or cross-regional initiatives seeking to foster new models for long-term sustainable resourcing of public interest journalism in global majority countries.

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations / International Development, Economics / Business, Communications)
  • 7+ years of experience in relevant positions
  • Proven track record of implementing advocacy initiatives, awareness raising campaigns and / or building successful coalitions
  • Proven track record of initiating and developing partnerships with international and national organizations across multiple geographies
  • Political savvy and understanding of global diplomacy and international development
  • Strategic thinking and ability to analyse market and political dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for engagement of diverse target audiences
  • Commitment to freedom of expression and information integrity
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and collaboratively within a dynamic team and fast evolving organization

The following would be advantages but are not requirements:

  • Familiarity with global media markets, and the interplay between technology and information
  • Existing networks in foreign policy and development circles or among actors working on information integrity
  • Grant making experience
  • Experience living in and working in developing markets
Location

France or one of the International Fund’s regions (Latin America & Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific, and Africa and the Middle East).
