BBC Media Action is seeking a consultant or agency with qualitative research skills experienced in human-centered design and participatory methods and processes, to design the tools and methodology for participatory stakeholder workshops in three countries.

The consultant/agency should be able to demonstrate strong qualitative research skills, and be experienced in human-centered design and using participatory methods and processes. Experience working on media or communications- related projects would be an asset. The consultant/agency will work closely with consortium partners at global and country level to:

  • Ensure the media mapping work is analysed and consolidated to inform the purpose and objectives of the
two workshops (Community of Interest and Community of Purpose) in each country
  • Design the workshop agenda and activities for the two workshops, including designing of participatory
exercises to be undertaken at each of the workshops, facilitation guidance and any tools required
  • Give guidance on how the workshops and tools will be adapted for each country context
  • Provide guidance on how data from the participatory exercises can be analysed, reported on and used by
    the project going forward

The workshops will take place in Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, and Ethiopia. If consultants/agencies have potential
facilitators to run workshops in any of these countries, please specify, and add costs for using local facilitators
(2 days for each workshop) and reporting on them as a separate cost. Recruitment of participants, venue, and
refreshments will be supplied by BBC Media Action.
