GFMD guide: How to use your right of access to information?

The Access to Information (ATI) guide is intended to help journalists and media professionals to use their fundamental right of access to public information. Through four steps, the resource seeks to concretely guide journalists as they are requesting information from a public authority.
As the right of access to information is not always fully implemented by public bodies, Global Forum for Media Development, together with a coalition of civil society organisations such as Deutsche Welle Akademie, Free Press Unlimited and local partners, have mobilised media development actors to support progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 16.10:
“Ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements”.
