Civil Society Fund has launched a Call for organisational grants for organisations working in the fields of democracy, the rule of law, human rights, media literacy, gender equality, and environmental protection. A total of €1,200,000 is available under this call.

The main objective of the Call for organisational grants is to strengthen organisations that are active in the priority areas of Civil Society Fund for several years by supporting the achievement of their long-term strategic goals and enhancing their organizational capacities.

Requirements

  • Applicants must submit a multi-year organizational work plan or strategy covering strategic objectives for both their programme activities (e.g. work with minority communities, advocacy for vulnerable groups, etc.) and organizational development (e.g. human resources management and development, fundraising, communications, etc.).
  • The strategic plan must clearly demonstrate how the organization will improve its organizational capacities during the implementation period (e.g. increased visibility and recognition, a larger membership and supporter base, improved transparency, etc.) and how the support will contribute to achieving its substantive objectives (e.g. reaching more beneficiaries, implementing more activities).
  • Expected changes must be presented through annual quantitative indicators.

Eligibility

  • Eligible applicants are non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that, on the date of application submission, meet the criteria set out in Article 2 of the Slovenian Non-Governmental Organisations Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 21/18), comply with the requirements specified in the Civil Society Fund Programme Agreement.
  • NGOs that have been legally registered for at least 36 months before the application deadline, with an average annual income of at least €70,000 and no more than €200,000 over the last three completed financial years, and that have a multi-year organizational work plan or strategy, or NGOs that have been legally registered for at least 36 months before the application deadline, with an average annual income exceeding €200,000 over the last three completed financial years, and that have a multi-year organizational work plan or strategy.
  • The annualized value of the requested grant may not exceed 50% of the applicant’s average annual turnover. Applicants with a lower average annual income must therefore choose a longer project duration (48 months). This option is recommended for all organizations with an annual budget below €100,000.
  • The applicant must currently implement, or have implemented since 1 January 2020, at least five different projects within the priority areas of the Civil Society Fund Slovenia.
  • The applicant must have settled all taxes and other mandatory financial obligations in accordance with national legislation.
