Call for Proposals: World Conference of Science Journalists 2027 (WCSJ2027)

WCSJ 2027 takes place at Central Hall Westminster, London, on 6–9 September 2027, with the theme “Strengthening science journalism through global networks”. Proposals are being accepted for the programme.

Details

• The programme will include professional development workshops, keynotes, and parallel sessions on both journalism and cutting-edge science. It will also offer field trips to UK research and cultural institutions.
• You can submit a maximum of two proposals
• At least 1/3 of the session should be for audience interaction
• The length of the session should be determined by the format, however WCSJ would suggest no longer than 90mins for a standard panel discussion. If you are proposing a workshop you will probably need to propose a longer session to allow learning to take place. The committee reserve the right to ask for the length to be amended to fit within the programme but this will be through negotiation with the proposer.
• Separate travel fellowships are available for journalists and students who otherwise couldn’t attend. They cover travel, visa costs, up to six nights’ accommodation and full registration.
• The programme committees may also commission their own sessions, in some cases drawing on proposals received.
