Competition of sub-grants to cover temporarily occupied territories, forced displacement and reintegration

NGO Internews-Ukraine announces a sub-grant competition for Ukrainian media workers to create content about the experience of people from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The goal of the project is to support independent Ukrainian media and media organisations in systematic, ethical and human-centred coverage of topics related to temporarily occupied territories, the experience of living in occupation, forced displacement, reintegration and social cohesion. In addition to funds, successful applicants will receive online trainings, mentoring and access to research.

Requirements

• The project should contribute to saturation of the media space with high-quality and human-centred content about the experience of life in occupation, forced displacement and reintegration.
• The project should prompt response to current information challenges and threats in this area;
  filling thematic gaps in highlighting the experience of occupation, forced displacement and reintegration processes;
• The project should contribute to development of new approaches, formats and models of coverage of these topics in the information environment.
• Each material must be: published on the media website; adapted for distribution on at least two social networks; properly labeled according to the communication requirements of the program.

Eligibility

• Applicants can submit one project proposal for one of two lots;
  • Independent national, regional, local and relocated media
  • Public and other non-governmental organizations that work with topics related to temporarily occupied territories, experience of living in occupation, forced displacement, reintegration and social cohesion and have a proven capacity to engage independent partner media can participate in the competition
• A prerequisite for the implementation of the project is the involvement of independent media partners who will create and/or integrate their own multimedia materials in accordance with the common tasks and goals of the project
• Organisations must be officially registered in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine as public organizations or other NGOs
• Organisations must have an active website as the main platform for publishing and/or distributing content, as well as active pages in social networks;
• Organisations must have experience working with the topics of temporarily occupied territories, war, forced displacement, reintegration, human rights, social cohesion or other related topics;
