The Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS) and 7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media invite submissions of article proposals for a special bilingual dossier to be published in both Arabic and English, with selected articles appearing on the “Flilistin Al-Maydan” blog on the IPS website and on 7amleh’s website, under the theme: “Palestine in the Digital Age: Technology, power, knowledge, and impact on the Palestinian context”
Details
The dossier welcomes contributions addressing topics including, but not limited to:
- Social media and Palestine: Palestinian communication and policies of silencing.
- Documentation and archiving in the digital age.
- Military artificial intelligence and AI-enabled systems of control.
- Artificial intelligence, training data, and the Palestinian narrative.
- Technology in the Palestinian context: blessing or curse?
- Technology companies and their role in the Palestinian context.
- Technology and knowledge in Palestine: knowledge production and systems of control.
Abstracts of no more than 200 words should be submitted by 30 August. The proposal should briefly outline the article’s central argument and scope. Abstracts may be submitted in either Arabic or English.
