Survey: Exploring Fairer Market Opportunities for European Media

Status: Open

Organisation: Display Europe

Deadline: Ongoing

Location: Europe (remote)

GFMD, together with colleagues from Display Europe Cooperative in Vienna, is exploring ways to support media viability in Europe by identifying fair opportunities to broaden markets for media organisations, journalists, and creators.
Many media outlets are facing increasingly saturated donation and subscription markets in their home countries, while audiences and readership abroad can be difficult to monetise. We want to better understand these challenges and explore whether there are opportunities to develop fairer cross-border markets for quality journalism and creative work.

Details

This survey is aimed at media organisations, journalists, and creators in Europe who are experiencing challenges with the sustainability of existing revenue models — particularly where domestic donation or subscription markets have become saturated, or where international audiences are difficult to convert into sustainable revenue.
Your responses will help GFMD and Display Europe Cooperative understand the barriers media and creators face in reaching and monetising audiences across borders, and identify potential opportunities for more equitable market development.

How to participate

If you are struggling with a saturated donation or subscription market in your country, or if your readership abroad cannot be easily monetised, please share your experience by completing this survey
