Are you passionate about investigative journalism and eager to help expose corruption, financial crime, and abuse of power in Europe? Follow the Money is looking for an editor to strengthen their editorial team, starting in October.

Key responsibilities

• As an editor at Follow the Money, your focus will lie on editing long-form investigations.
• Occasionally, you will also edit short news stories. Your editing is to the highest standards, with attention to impact, accuracy and narrative.
• You will collaborate with a team of editors, reporters, researchers, and illustrators to shape and finalise stories for publication.

Eligibility

• You are able to manage your own deadlines and set appropriate deadlines for writers. It’s your task to make complex subjects accessible to a general audience.
• For this job you need an impeccable command of English and extensive editing experience.
• You are a true team player with excellent communication skills.
• You are available 32-40 hours a week and able to be at the office in Amsterdam on a regular basis.
• While not a requirement, it is desirable that you speak a second language, preferably Dutch, French, or German.
• It is desirable that you have experience working on cross-border collaborations.
• It is desirable that you have a solid understanding of the European Union.
