DW Akademie is inviting proposals for the evaluation of its BMZ-funded Master’s program “International Media Studies (IMS),” in line with OECD/DAC evaluation criteria. The evaluation will assess outcomes related to journalism education, capacity building and labour market integration in partner countries.

Thematics

The International Media Studies (IMS) program is a four-semester, practice-based postgraduate degree aimed at media professionals from partner countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. In addition to the established English-language track, a French-language track was launched in winter semester 2024/25, supported by regional university and media partnerships.The evaluator(s) will:

  • design and conduct the evaluation
  • collect and analyse data (interviews on-site in Bonn and remotely)
  • deliver an inception report, a presentation of findings, and a final evaluation report
  • participate in a kick-off workshop and a change workshop

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

  • proven experience in evaluations in international development (OECD/DAC)
  • strong analytical and research skills
  • experience in media, journalism, higher education or development cooperation
  • fluent English (French is a strong asset)
